Common Sense (2009)

I stumbled upon this video from March, 2009, while looking for a picture of Thomas Paine for a blog post. I remember when this first came out, but I don’t think I ever saw it all the way through until this morning.

I’m with this fellow on about 3/4ths of his points, and the tea bag thing always seemed hokey, but there are some good points here. While you may not agree with him on every point he raises, the real message is, I think, fairly universal – our elected officials work for us, not the reverse, and our elected federal offices were intended to be part-time jobs, not lifetime careers.
