It seems that the ‘friend of the working man,’ the union, is getting blamed for a serious cuts among the Police, Fire, and municipal gov’t employees in Camden, NJ, and this after they just upgraded to ‘2nd most violent city in the US’ after two years as the #1 most violent city in the US.
The cuts, as described at CBS Philly website.
About 335 workers, representing one-sixth of the local government work force, lost their jobs, according to Mayor Dana Redd. It was worst in the public safety departments, where nearly half the police force and close to one-third of the city’s firefighters were laid off.
Looks like I may wind up changing my vacation plans for this spring…
