Wanna Buy a Chevy Volt or Nissan Leaf?

Filed under: In The News — Ken @ 10:10 pm

Well, you’re not alone, but you’re in a very select crowd it seems.

According to the latest sales records, Chevy sold a total of 281 Chevy Volts in February, 2011, and that’s down from January’s sales total of 321. The Nissan Leaf saw a similar drop in sales volume – February sales were down from January’s 87 Leafs to only 67 in February.

Total sales for both are equally small: only 928 Chevy Volts and 173 Nissan Leafs have been sold by the end of February, despite heavy subsidies and handouts to those that buy them.

It’s gonna be real hard to hit the hoped-for million electric vehicles (like the Volt and the Leaf) on the road by 2015 at this rate…
